Biography
Sara Walton is a Market Development Manager with BSI, the UK National Standards Body. She has over 10 years’ experience of standardisation and working with representative stakeholders, leading UK committees for food safety, quality, OHS and conformity assessment, and researching and facilitating events for new areas of interest to government, industry and civil society.
Sara has contributed to position papers on subjects as varied as public procurement and trust, risk management and the governance and deployment of AI. Sara particularly enjoys her research work at BSI as it can lead directly to the development and implementation of practical solutions and tools, such as standards frameworks and strategies, which can be levers to enabling the change and improvements that policy makers, businesses and consumers are keen to instigate.
Sara has responsibility for new standards addressing innovation in the food value chain and dealing with issues such as risk management, organizational resilience, governance and trust in the supply chain.
Prior to working for BSI, Sara worked in business publishing, creating and delivering information solutions for organizations, based on their legal and compliance needs.
