Philip Verey

Philip is Commercial Director at Winnow, a company that develops technology to help chefs measure, monitor and reduce food waste. Winnow operates on a global basis with offices in London, Dubai, Singapore, Shanghai and the US. Philip has a background in sustainability and clean technology, with over 15 years’ experience in various commercial and management roles.

Prior to Winnow, he worked at a cleantech-focused venture capital fund, investing in early-stage companies that were developing hardware solutions in cleantech and industrial high-tech. Before this, he spent seven years at the global clean energy research firm, New Energy Finance; Philip joined the organisation when it was a start-up and helped grow the business internationally, first in Europe and then in Asia, where he was Head of Business Development for Asia, based out of Beijing and then Tokyo. The company was sold to Bloomberg in 2010 and Philip moved back London to help with the integration and to lead on commercial strategy for the group.

Philip also helped set up Finance for Resilience, a charitable organisation that was created to accelerate ideas that would bring billions of dollars of new investment into the green economy. This organisation was integrated into the Climate Finance Lab in 2016.

Philip has an MBA from London Business School and a BA from Bristol University.
