Biography

Lynn Wilson is a designer, researcher and circular economy business consultant specialising in material processing under her brand name Circular Economy Wardrobe.

From 2013 to 2017 Lynn was part of the pioneering Circular Economy team at Zero Waste Scotland as the Sector Manager, Textiles (2013-16) where she implemented a national circular economy textiles strategy. From 2016-17 she was the Sector Manager, Manufacturing and led on the circular economy work stream of the national Manufacturing Action Plan (MAP), developing programmes for the high value engineering sector related to Industry 4.0 and remanufacturing.

Lynn was awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust fellowship in 2015 and visited Japan meeting businesses developing closed loop chemical, design and industrial solutions. She is a fellow of the RSA and is a former RSA Student Design Awards judge.

Since 2017 Lynn has been a PhD research candidate at the Adam Smith Business School, Glasgow University funded by the Economic Social Research Council and sponsored by the Ethical Consumer Research Association. Committed to civic duty, Lynn is a non-executive director of Architecture and Design Scotland, the national organisation committed to supporting best practice in Scotland’s built environment and is an advisor to Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) on circular economy business strategy.

She enjoys public speaking and regularly gives presentations about the circular economy at industry conferences and higher education institutes throughout the UK and internationally. Lynn has written blogs and opinion pieces for various publications including Business Insider.
