He is also quite familiar with traceability requirements and how to get food businesses to appreciate the importance of sourcing their food safely. Gareth is a contractor who provides his services to public sector and private sector clients and usually engages in food safety (and sometimes health & safety) projects which involve inspecting and if possible improving the food businesses he has been tasked with.
He has been responsible for carrying out or participating in approximately 15 major food safety projects and has assisted thousands of food businesses to improve their food safety standards in the last few years. He has also provided food safety consultancy services and has recently assisted a microdairy to obtain approval under Food Standard Agency rules – here he was on the opposite side of the fence, developing a HACCP plan and pre-requisite procedures, liaising with enforcement authorities on the client’s behalf and also formulating and refining recall and traceability procedures for them.
